The key to successful design is understanding context.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014 with a B.S. Landscape Architecture and an Environmental Studies Certificate, I went on to work at a couple of design and engineering firms in Wisconsin. In order to meet my desire to travel and be closer to extended family, I decided to move to Hawaii and set up shop as a freelancer. I found myself working on ADU projects throughout Honolulu, exposing me to construction outside of the realm of landscape architecture. At the end of 2016 I decided to move to New Zealand to accept a job with the expectation of staying a year. I eventually landed at Reset Urban Design where I found myself working on waterfront projects, playgrounds, housing communities, and wetland park projects throughout New Zealand and China. I spent my weekends camping, hiking, eating, and helping friends remodel their homes. At the end of 2018, I decided to return to Wisconsin in order to help take care of family. It was at this time that I founded Happy Lark, allowing me expand my skillset into adjacent design fields, and give me flexibility to explore the United States further.
I continue to provide consulting services within the Honolulu area for ADU construction, as well as design, CAD, 3d modeling and rendering services for interior and landscape projects throughout Wisconsin. Recent work includes design, 3d modeling, and renderings for corporate campuses, residential renovations, and the agricultural sector.
In my free-time I enjoy playing music, building and restoring furniture, painting, taking photos, hiking and camping.
